It's that time of year when we are all feeling festive, the countdown to Christmas has begun! But, there is also something else to look forward to in December... the Clothes Show Live which is currently taking place at the NEC in Birmingham (6-10 December). This is the UK's largest fashion festival which is packed with all the latest fashion and beauty trends. You can enjoy the non-stop catwalk shows, hair and beauty demonstrations and much more. It is set to be a special one as it is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year!
Seeing as it is the Clothes' Shows 25th birthday, it seems only right there was a cake. But this wasn't just any cake, it was a cake specially commissioned by iconic fashion designer Zandra Rhodes and was made by master chocolatiers Choccywoccydoodah. To mark the occasion, the cake was given to industry legend Caryn Franklin and Managing Director of Haymarket Exhibitions Gavin Brown who both founded the Clothes Show Live.
It kicked off on the first day with a star-studded line up of celebrities including fashion designer Henry Holland, girl band Stooshe, TV presenters Antonia O'Brien and Laura Jackson and some of the cast from TOWIE and MIC; Oliver Proudlock, Jamie Laing, Amy Childs, Jessica Wright and Kirk Norcross, who all have brands exhibiting there.
At the event, you can shop the best in autumn/winter 2013 fashion and beauty from over 500 brands...shopper's paradise! At the heart of the action is the remarkable 45 minute ALCATEL ONE TOUCH Fashion Theatre which sees an array of models, celebrities and dancers perform a set against the backdrop of a Weekend in the Country, based on the iconic Cliveden House. Featuring current and new season fashion collections, you can see over 40 top models and dancers bringing fashion to life. They are wearing all the latest high-street, designer, couture and boutique fashion collections, so as they strut their stuff down the runway wearing the hottest hair and make-up trends all eyes will be on them. It is definitely a performance not to be missed for the lucky ones attending!
Sounds like a fantastic event doesn't it? But guess what, there was something else that made it even more fabulous... the first-ever Take Me Out: Live On Stage debuted at the NEC, hosted by the King of Dating himself, Paddy McGuinness! Now who doesn't love a bit of "no likely, no lighty."
It's British fashion's largest collection featuring cutting edge trends and the latest high street fashion. You are bound to find something you love, whether that be vintage and retro to boutique or street. The Clothes Show hosts a wide variety of designers who like to look at clothes a bit differently, ranging from Junya Watanbe, Acne to Commes des Garcons so it is a great place for style inspiration if you want to stand out from the crowd!
It really is a great event, at the heart of British fashion. So Happy Birthday Clothes Show Live!
