Harrison Ford was rushed to hospital after being injured on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII on Thursday. The 71-year-old actor, who is filming in England, reportedly damaged his ankle, and was taken to a local hospital.
A statement from Disney said Ford “sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates".
The actor is reprising his role as Han Solo for the latest film in the in Star Wars franchise, which is being directed by J.J. Abrams. Other stars returning to the series include Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker, with the story set 30 years after Return of the Jedi.
