A fifth judge will join Mel B, Cheryl Cole, Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell on the ‘X Factor’ panel, according to reports.
In a surprise twist, music mogul Simon is apparently planning to spice things up even more this year, by introducing another judge after the initial audition stages.

Hopefuls began auditioning in front of the new panel last month
According to sources, the extra judge will join the panel just before the live shows and bosses apparently already have a shortlist of possible people in mind.
“Simon Cowell is planning on including a wildcard category which will be mentored by a mystery fifth judge,” an insider told Metro. “There was a creative meeting three weeks ago and plans are now being put into action.
“Rita Ora and Mary J Blige are currently in discussions with show bosses.”
As well as livening up the show, the new judge will also help to solve an issue which plagues the Sunday night results show.
“A fifth judge will prevent the deadlock and add some spice to the panel during the live shows,” the source added.
‘X Factor’ execs are pulling out all the stops for this year’s show, which marks the return of Cheryl and Simon, while 2014 is Mel B’s first year in a judge’s chair.
Mel has reportedly already decided who will join her as an advisor during the Judges’ House episodes. Let’s just say, she’s hoping to spice things up even more.
