Just when we thought the ‘Great British Bake Off’ had got back to being a light-hearted programme about, y’know, baking rather than the cause of a nation-wide scandal, Wednesday night’s episode is set to be full of drama,
For the technical challenge, the bakers are asked to prepare Kouign Amann, which hails from the Brittany region of France. Unsurprisingly, none of the contestants have heard of it.
And hot off the heels of ‘#Bingate’ a few weeks ago, more drama unfolds as Nancy accuses Richard of copying her.

'Bake Off' contestant, Nancy
Presenter Sue Perkins first spots Richard’s wandering eyes and warns Nancy: “Everything you do, he looks at.”
Not happy with having her ideas copied, Nancy confronts her competitor, telling him: “This is terrible. Did you do this in your exams at school?”
Nothing says drama quite like two bakers having a row in a tent - we can’t wait to see how this one plays out.

The current series of ‘Great British Bake Off’ has surely been the most action-packed to date, thanks in no small part to an incident last month - dubbed #BinGate by viewers - which saw Iain throwing his Baked Alaska in the bin after Diana took it out of her freezer a little prematurely.
Enwezor was also booted out of the competition after it emerged he’d sneaked in supermarket-brand icing rather than making his own from scratch.
This year’s contestants have even been given advice on how to deal with online trolls who may send them abuse, particularly in light of the arrival of the youngest baker in the series’ history, Martha.
