Beyoncé Joins Madonna's 'Bitch I'm Madonna' Music Video, With Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj And Katy Perry

Madonna’s star-studded new music video is just around the corner, and she’s now teased that Beyoncé will be putting in a cameo appearance.

SEE MORE:

The Queen of Pop and Queen Bey are thought to have collaborated on Madonna’s upcoming ‘Bitch I’m Madonna’ video, which she teased last week.

The vid will also feature Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Rita Ora and Nicki Minaj, who raps on the track.

However, on Monday morning she revealed yet another star name involved in the project, when she shared this photo on her Instagram page, also listing Beyoncé among the famous women taking part.

We couldn’t help but notice the teaser image on Madonna’s Instagram looks an awful lot like similar photos used by Taylor Swift in the run-up to her ‘Bad Blood’ music video, which also contained a host of celebrity cameos.

We have to admit, though, that Taylor’s ‘Bad Blood’ clip left us scratching our heads over a few of the “celebrity” cameos, while Madonna’s looks set to be strictly A-list.

However, we might be on the edge of our seats waiting for the video to her latest Diplo-produced track, but we were less than enthused for the cover art for the single, also unveiled last week.

Right there, folks, is why you don’t let the work experience design your cover artwork, with just half an hour of Photoshop training under their belt.

Madonna previously gave a frenetic performance of ‘Bitch I’m Madonna’, during an appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s chat show back in April, which featured cameo appearances from Diplo, her teenage son, Rocco, and - bizarrely - a sock puppet.

'Marianne Faithfull Exposed'

Marianne Faithfull will forever go down in the annals of rock 'n' roll history as the nude girl wrapped in a fur rug when the Rolling Stones got busted for drugs in Swingin' London.

2015-06-16-1434424232-6401168-teapartybusted1.jpg

It wasn't easy being Mick Jagger's girlfriend, if you ask Tammy Faye Starlite, who paid homage to her Sunday night at Joe's Pub in New York in a show called 'Marianne Faithfull Exposed' as a politically incorrect, but proud rock 'n' roll survivor, warts and all. She makes no apologies for her "Vagabond Ways," incidentally the autobiographic opening song of the set.

A few years ago, Starlite, a terrific mimic, comically channeled Nico, another rock icon, thanks to her early association with the Velvet Underground. Both Faithful and Nico started out as blonde folk rock/pop princesses, the Taylor Swift of their day, and later became much darker chanteuses. Faithfull, unlike Nico, is still very much alive even if she's currently recovering from hip surgery in Paris.

Faithfull was a bit more mainstream than Nico, as the result of Jagger and Keith Richards writing for her at the Stones manager's urging "As Tears Go By," which she recorded first.

Starlite went through Faithfull's Wikipedia career highlights, but managed to give the presentation some authenticity by drafting Faithfull's longtime songwriting partner Barry Reynolds to back her up on acoustic guitar, as did Kevin Salem, in this unplugged show. Reynolds plays the good sport, as Starlite flung barbs at him the entire show, challenging his songwriting claims and bedroom prowess.

What's not in dispute is Reynolds helped craft Faithfull's best recorded work, the 1979 album Broken English, a well received comeback that holds up without ever sounding dated, after she spent much of the previous decade in a drug-induced stupor.

Starlite played that album's best track "Why D'Ya Do It," which she called an anthem to all scorned women, and explained its lyrics originated from a poem by Heathcote Williams. In any case, having Reynolds on stage, cooking with Salem on "Why D'Ya Do It's" reggae riffs made you realise that this was more than a mere cover band.

A few years ago, I saw Faithfull perform at New York's City Winery. While Faithfull was a bit of a raconteur, she didn't riff on current events. That didn't stop Starlite from commenting about what it means to be a woman today after consulting with her new friends "Caitlyn and Rachel," or her hilarious recommendation that the audience stay away from the Broadway show Beautiful about Carole King because it's absurd to go to a show whose star is pretending to be someone she's not.

Nor did Faithful when I saw her, unlike Starlite, badmouth Jagger, or his acting ability. Starlite bitterly complained repeatedly about how she wrote "Sister Morphine," among other Stones songs, and how she really preferred Keith, settling for the singer.

Original Sticky Fingers label

Crawling all over the stage, Starlite captured cathartically all the drama drenched in this ode to narcotics. (And Faithfull might have a new slew of royalties forthcoming, due to last week's re-release of the Stones' Sticky Fingers.)

2015-06-16-1434425417-5401414-credit.JPG
Sticky Fingers Reissue with Faithful co-credit on "Sister Morphine"

At the December 2011 City Winery gig, Faithfull did say that one of her biggest mistakes in the 1960s was admitting to her mother that she did drugs, which resulted her being locked up in a mental hospital. "I had to call Mick to get me out," Faithful told the audience, so perhaps she really isn't that bitter, or at least knows what not to say publicly.

Meanwhile, the uncensored Starlite claimed she and Tom Waits telepathically connected, resulting in the ballad "Strange Weather," which does sound like it was tailor-made for her smoky voice. Starlite questioned how could Waits's wife Kathleen Brennan end up with co-writing credit. In any case, both Starlite and Faithfull made the song all their own.

Starlite also patted herself on the back for recording the song "Ireland" in 1983, co-written incidentally with Reynolds, and being so happy the country finally recognised the need for anyone to get married.

She also repeatedly made reference to New York Jews, and insisted she could -- because [Faithfull's] maternal grandmother was half Jewish. She lauded the Jewish songwriting triumvirate of Bob Dylan, Lou Reed and Leonard Cohen, whose "Tower of Song" was the next-to-last song, before launching into "As Tears Go By," which early on she said she wasn't going to play, as a slight to Mick.

Oh well, it was her prerogative to change her mind, and neither Starlite nor Faithfull have forgotten what put Marianne on the map.

Starlite moves the 'Marianne Faithfull Exposed' show to Los Angeles at McCabe's July 19 when she'll perform the Broken English album in its entirety.

‘X Factor': Rita Ora To Be The Winning Judge? Vote For Your Favourite Panellist... (POLL)

The auditions haven’t even begun yet, but there’s already speculation over which ‘X Factor’ judge will triumph this year, following confirmation that Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw have joined the panel.

The two stars will sit alongside returning panellists Simon Cowell and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, and it looks as though one of the new recruits could emerge victorious.

The new panel

According to Ladbrokes, Rita is already the favourite to be this year’s winning judge, and the bookies’ spokeswoman Jessica Bridge explains: "Rita was the only good thing about 'The Voice' so it's not a huge surprise that Cowell has hijacked her from the BBC.

"As far as the odds are concerned she'll be the star of the show and will mentor this year's winner.

"Other than young viewers It's hard to see what Grimmy can actually bring to the panel as a judge."

When the announcement was made on Tuesday morning, fans of the show weren’t exactly overjoyed, and many took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

Ladbrokes are offering odds of 9/4 on Rita winning the show, and 5/2 for both Simon and Cheryl.

With no talent show experience, Nick is currently the outsider, and fans who fancy a flutter are being offered odds of 3/1 on the DJ guiding a winner.

The panel will unite for the first round of auditions in July, and Nick has already been planning for the judges’ houses stage - though we’re not sure what Si will think of his desired location.

Joking on his Radio 1 breakfast show, Grimmy said: “I'm thinking of doing it in Oldham.

“It's gorgeous. That's where I was born and bred so I was thinking maybe I'd go back there, that or maybe go there or Barbados, they are the two options I'm thinking.”

Last year’s series was won by Ben Haenow, who was mentored by Simon, while Fleur East - also mentored by Si - came second.

Can one of the newbies mentor a winner? Watch this space…

Why Nick Grimshaw And Rita Ora Aren't The Answer To Saving 'The X Factor'

$
0
0
Any 'X Factor' fan will tell you the day a new panel gets announced is usually a very exciting one - not only does it mean we get introduced to the four people we'll be ditching our friends for every Saturday night, but it also marks the start of the official countdown until the new series kicks off.

But as the 2015 judges were announced on Tuesday morning, not only were fans underwhelmed - the "big news" had been practically everywhere prior to the official unveiling - but many threatened to boycott the show altogether, myself included.

Why? Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora.

After a couple of tumultuous years for the ITV talent show, which had seen ratings tumble dramatically since its 2010 heyday, Simon Cowell decided that a radical overhaul was in order. Out went host Dermot O'Leary and judges Mel B and Louis Walsh, and in their places came new presenters Caroline Flack and Olly Murs, along with newbie panellists Grimmy and Rita.

But if he thinks the judging duo are is the answer to reversing the show's ailing fortunes, I fear he may be sadly mistaken.

The announcement that these two would be sitting behind the famous desk made it immediately clear Simon's strategy involves courting the lucrative "yoof" audience. At 30 and 24 respectively, Grimmy and Rita are much younger than their predecessors, bringing the average age of the panel down to just 35, compared to 2014's average of 46. When the show began in 2004 with Simon, Louis and Sharon Osbourne on the panel, this number was even higher at 49.

While the 16-34 age group are seen as much more appealing to advertisers, X Factor's biggest problem is that has been hemorrhaging chunks of its audience for a number of years now. If ratings and beating 'Strictly Come Dancing' is what Simon is really worried about it, it seems crazy to be narrowing down its appeal to a small age group. Surely what it really needs to be doing is casting its net as wide as possible to win back as many viewers as it can?

Some may argue that the age of the show's judges will not reflect on who is likely to tune in, but Grimmy in particular has a proven track record in alienating older audiences. More than a million people have switched off his Radio 1 Breakfast Show in the last year, as the station tries to attract more younger listeners as part of its public service remit. This may have been hailed as a good thing by his Radio 1 bosses, but 'X Factor' really cannot afford to do the same, with many commentators seeing this series as make-or-break for the show in the Saturday night ratings war.

Grimmy's perceived popularity is also questionable. While he may boast a slew of celebrity friends such as Kate Moss, Harry Styles and Alexa Chung, who have helped him become regular tabloid fodder, his ability to win over the public in quite the same way isn't so impressive. A recent poll conducted by Digital Spy, which was taken by over 15,000 people, revealed that a massive 75% did not want to see him join 'The X Factor'. He was also on the receiving end of a backlash from 'TFI Friday' viewers when host Chris Evans suggested he succeeded him as the Channel 4 show's frontman, should it be brought back for a new series. Add to this the huge wave of negative tweets in response to his appointment as an 'X Factor' judge, it may seem the media are a lot more obsessed with him than Mr Joe Bloggs is.

Similarly, thanks to her high-profile relationships, raunchy stage antics and outrageous dress sense, Rita is never far from the headlines, which is sure to be a one of the reasons Simon was so keen to get her on board. But column inches don't necessarily translate into the ability to judge talent and mentor contestants. While Simon may claim to have been impressed by Rita's performance on rival talent show 'The Voice', where she served as a coach for one series earlier this year, her role wasn't without its critics. Many blasted her dull comments to the singing wannabes, with even former judge Jessie J calling her out for not being tough enough on the more mediocre acts. Rita was also the first coach to lose all her contestants when the live shows started (a gold star to you if you're able to name just one of them), and ultimately she failed to help 'The Voice' do what it desperately needed to - find a real star. Say what you like about Louis Walsh, but the man helped launch the careers of some of X Factor's most memorable acts including JLS, Jedward, Union J and Shayne Ward.

Moreover, it's difficult to see what Grimmy and Rita's close friendship will bring to the show. Seasoned 'X Factor' viewers know that it works best when there is an edge of tension between the judges, with many memorable feuds characterising the show's 11-year history. Whether it's Sharon Osbourne throwing water over Louis, the complete and utter hatred between Sharon and Dannii Minogue, the 'frenemy' relationship between Simon and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, or Louis' constant desire to royally wind Simon up, fans LOVE it when there's a promise the panel could blow up at at any second. But with Rita and Grimmy having long been pals before they signed up to the show, we're unlikely to see see any fireworks between them, and somehow I can't see Grimmy and Cheryl going at it hammer and tongs, or Rita delivering withering put-downs in quite the same way Mel B did.

What the 'X Factor' has always needed - and still does - is a camp matriarch who isn't afraid to tell it like it really is - a female Simon, if you will. Mel B was settling into this role very nicely following the departure of Sharon Osbourne and quite why she was ever fired remains an absolute mystery to me. It also needs someone with a sense of the ridiculous - someone who is unpredictable, won't take the show too seriously and is willing to champion the more eccentric acts, but yet still knows their stuff. Essentially, the show needs Louis Walsh. The Irishman IS 'The X Factor' and quite how it will survive without the cheeky glint in his eye or his ridiculous "little Lenry Henry" comments remains to be seen. After all, we all know what happened the last time Louis was fired from the show.

Simon can change the panel as much as he likes, but what he really needs to realise is that, in order to win back viewers, he needs to freshen up the tired format and make less demands on the casual viewer to make it 'must-see TV' again. The axing of the 'double auditions' stage is long overdue (personally, I'd have much rather have seen the back of the arenas than for the rooms to be axed again), while we can only hope we're not 'treated' to three nights in a row of the awful - and cruel - Six Chair Challenge again. A reduced running time of the live shows would also be a welcome move, as their ever-increasing length and countless ad breaks have made them more of an endurance test to sit through in recent years. Most importantly, the judges must pick some proper talent. The show's highest rated series came when One Direction, Cher Lloyd, Rebecca Ferguson, Matt Cardle and Tesco Mary were contestants, and it's impossible to think of a year that produced as many stars.

When 'X Factor' returns to screens in the autumn, it's likely enjoy a ratings boost as curious viewers tune in to see how Simon has changed the show and if the newbies are worth their salt. But the proof will be if they stick around, and with Rita and Grimmy on the panel, I can't see that happening. While I'm open to being proved wrong, if I were Louis Walsh, I'd be sure to be close to my phone waiting for a call from Mr Cowell...

WISE WORDS: Ben Fogle On Having No Regrets And The First Thing He'd Do As Prime Minister

In the latest of our new WISE WORDS interview series - where stars from a whole range of walks of life share the important lessons they've learned along the way - we talk to presenter and writer Ben Fogle.

MORE WISE WORDS:

Following a posting in the Royal Navy, Ben first came to public notice in the BBC programme 'Castaway' in 2000. Since then, he has made his living as an adventurer, writer and presenter, in jobs that have taken him around the world. He talks to HuffPostUK about the benefits of travel and the new Cabinet Minister's post he'd endorse...

ben fogle
Ben Fogle with furry friend

What do you do to switch off from the world?
Travel. It's the greatest way to detox from social media. I spend a great deal of time in the remotest corners of the world. Far away from technology and phone signal. I love to use the time to think and reflect. We often forget to look around us. The world is a beautiful place.

How do you deal with negativity?
If im honest I'm a little thin-skinned. Having kids has changed that. Im 41 now and this is me. I can't change. Negativity is a human trait and I try to ignore it. If I became Prime Minister I would make a new cabinet seat MP for Positivity, Optimism and Celebration.

When and where are you happiest?
With my family. Marina, Ludo and Iona and our two dogs maggi and storm. Walking along a West Country beach, splashing through the surf. Happy happy happy.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
To add life to your days and not days to your life. It sounds like a cliche but we only have one life so we really must live it. Seize the moment. Have no regrets. Live your life to the full.

What has been the hardest lesson you’ve learned?
You will never please all of the people all of the time. The more you please some of the people, some of the time, you will displease other people all of the time. Also, fate can wield its mortal hand at any moment.

What would you tell your 13-year-old self?
Chin up. Straighten your back. Walk tall. Look into the eyes and greet with a firm handshake. You are you. Believe in your self. Be confident.

What 3 things are at the top of your bucket list?
I'd quite like to climb a big peak. I've done a few 6500m but I mean a 7/8000 mountain. I love mountains.
I'd love to do the Mongol Derby. A 1000 mile race on horseback across Mongolia.
I'd like to cross the Darien Gap in Panama.

What do you think happens when we die?
I like to think we became a part of the earths great habitat. I like the idea I might become a small tree that turns into a great oak.

When do you feel a sense that we live in the presence of something bigger than ourselves?
Almost whenever I travel. The world is huge. There is nothing like sitting in the middle of an ocean or atop a mountain below an endless sky to feel very very small.

What do you try to bring to your relationships?
Love. Happiness and wonder.

What keeps you grounded?
My family. I love the ground.

What was your last good deed?
I try to support as many charities as I can. I helped an elderly blind man across the road recently. Does that count?

Spoiler Alert

*SPOILER ALERT*

Imagine a world where nobody asked for, "no spoilers". That was what it was like growing up in the 70s and 80s.

The exception that still stands is football results - the warning after the news before the sport report in case you don't want to know the result.

I recall wishing that had been the case in 1980 the night JR Ewing was shot because I'd been to see a show and walked in to see the late night newsreader showing a clip of it.

We had a VHS recorder back then on the off chance we might miss a series finale on one of the three channels that occasionally proved handy.

These days, people are poking their eyes out to avoid reading any spoilers on their social media feeds and getting VERY angry should they see any.

I'm no killjoy and I don't watch Game of Thrones but even I know what happened due to posts unsubtly hinting of death and demise. It's Game of Thrones, what did you expect?

If you miss something on the night, why should everyone else keep schtum until you've seen it? How long is the appropriate period of silence? Should we ask when you plan to catch up?

No spoilers seems to be an unspoken rule exclusively reserved for a certain kind of series, the ones that will eventually crop up as a box set.

It doesn't apply to every genre.

Soaps seem to have the opposite rule. I don't know anyone who watches that doesn't know what's going to happen.

People don't go berserk if you tell them what happened in the previous nights' game shows, chat shows or Question Time.

I automatically assume people don't want to know what happens in Broadchurch but won't berate me for repeating an owl ripped its baby apart and fed it to the other babies on Springwatch.

I still know people who recoil in panic if you mention Breaking Bad - a show that finished almost two years ago - for fear you may reveal the ending.

For a generation who insist on publishing every detail of their lives immediately online, it turns out this does not apply to television dramas.

I think we should call for a time limit of when we can discuss finales.

Years and even months feel unreasonable but how about weeks? Days? Better still, hours.
24?

And I'm not talking Jack Bauer.

Music as Medicine - Happy 40th Birthday Nordoff Robbins

Music as medicine is something I've always believed in. It can heal the soul and much, much more. Music has been at the heart of my life since I was a kid - first listening to it and then getting to make it and seeing how it could change a mood, uplift a crowd and sooth an individual.

The sheer power of music and the way it can affect people in such a positive way is never better demonstrated than when you watch the therapists from the charity Nordoff Robbins at work.

The charity uses the power of music to treat children and adults with all kinds of difficulties ranging from autism to dementia and they have been transforming lives for decades. The techniques created by the founders Paul Nordoff and Clive Robbins can be a way of communicating for those who have trouble doing so and it has proved to have many benefits both physical and mental.

Wet Wet Wet has been involved with Nordoff Robbins for over 25 years and last month we performed a gig in London to mark the 40th birthday of the charity. In 1988 we had the honour of receiving a Silver Clef award from the charity and in 1992 we performed a gig at the Royal Albert Hall to raise money for a new library. This was opened the following year and happily still serves the charity today.

Before the recent gig we visited the Nordoff Robbins Centre in London to catch up on the amazing work they do and also watch a therapy session taking place. It never ceases to blow me away when I watch the therapists in action. You see the way they use music to open up people who have been locked away from the world by their difficulties. It is such a simple technique to a degree but what it achieves is truly staggering.

The session we attended was with an eleven-year-old boy named Romano who has autism. The therapist began to play the piano and Romano accompanied him on the drums, beating out a rhythm and clearly hugely enjoying himself.

The music was really touching him and that was a wonderful thing to watch. After a while we were asked to get involved and so the band took up some instruments and played an acoustic version of Love Is All Around, which seemed like the right track to choose. Romano dueted with me and it was a really moving moment as once again I saw just why Nordoff Robbins is so important and is a charity we'll always support. Music is written using keys and Nordoff Robbins is the locksmith that has the power to open up the individual... love to love.

Dan Osborne has penned an emotional letter to his two young children, Teddy and Ella.

SEE MORE:

The former ‘TOWIE’ hunk has a four-month-old daughter with his fiancée, Jacqueline Jossa, as well as a one-year-old son with ex-girlfriend Megan Tomlin, and has written an open letter to them in the new issue of Now magazine, telling them they have "changed his whole life".

Dan opens the letter by taking opportunity to defend his position as a young father, writing: “Some people think that just because I’m 23 I’m too young to have children, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Come on ARSENAL!!!! ⚽️❤️

“I’d always choose to sit indoors with you both than do absolutely anything else.”

He goes on to discuss his turbulent relationship with Teddy’s mother, which ended shortly before he began dating Jacqueline.

Explaining why he and Megan split, he tells his son: “Teddy, you’re not always with us and it’s really hard for me to be without you, but we have three days a week together. When I have to take you to your mum’s, it’s the worst feeling in the world.

“It’s hard for me to explain to you now, but when you grow up, I hope you appreciate it was the right thing to do for me not to be with your mum.

“We weren’t in a good relationship and I didn’t want us to be miserable, so I hope you understand it’s for the best this way.”

My girls ❤️

Earlier this year, Dan was axed from ‘TOWIE’ after The Sun published leaked audio, allegedly containing violent threats made by him towards Megan.

Following the backlash that faced Dan after the footage was made public, Jacqueline leapt to his defence, insisting: “People selling stories on him, show one side to a story, but people around Dan know the whole truth, and you would all be shocked.

“I am 100 percent not saying what Daniel has said was right or okay, but people make mistakes when in dark places, and it's something we sorted out privately not in front of the whole world, it's something he has apologised for and is embarrassed about.”

Jacqueline and Dan announced that they were engaged on Monday night, after Dan proposed to the ‘EastEnders’ actress during a family holiday to Greece.

Chloe Wilburn has become the second ‘Big Brother’ housemate to face the public vote in this week’s eviction.

On Monday, Chloe was nominated by ‘Time Warp’ housemates Brian Belo, Helen Wood, Nikki Grahame and Marc O’Neill, who had surprised the housemates a night earlier by returning to the house, following last weekend’s fake eviction.

Chloe initially claimed she “had a feeling” she would be nominated, but later broke down in front of the group, protesting: “What’s wrong with being normal? It don’t make me boring.

“It’s not the first time that it’s come up that I least deserve it and I just feel like I do deserve it.”

Of course, as you may remember from last year’s series, Helen isn’t exactly allergic to the sound of her own voice, so continually interrupted Chloe while she defended herself, much to the chagrin of Brian.

He told Helen: “That’s not fair. We have just nominated her. We should give her the benefit of the doubt and let her say what she wants to say otherwise we are just picking on this girl.”

However, she didn’t care for his choice of words either, leading to a row between the two ‘legends’.

Oh dear.

Chloe will now go up against with Harry Amelia, who was chosen by the four ‘Time Warp’ housemates earlier this week, with one of them potentially getting the boot in Friday’s live show.

BBC executives announced on Tuesday evening who they had signed up to take over from controversial figure and former Top Gear frontman Jeremy Clarkson.

The corporation revealed that Radio 2 DJ and bookies favourtie Chris Evans would lead the motoring show's new lineup.

The 49-year-old said he was "thrilled" to secure the job and promised to "respect what has gone on before and take the show forward".

He has signed a three-year contract with the BBC, although replacements for James May and Richard Hammond have not yet been found.

Evans said Top Gear was "created by a host of brilliant minds who love cars and understand how to make the massively complicated come across as fun, devil-may-care and effortless".

"When in fact of course, it's anything but and that's the genius of Top Gear's global success," he added.

In a tweet published on Tuesday evening, Evans announced his appointment and praised Clarkson, Hammond and May as being "the greatest".

He also confirmed he would not be leaving the Radio 2 Breakfast Show.

Production on the new series of the shows is due to start in the coming weeks and more information will be announced in due course, it was confirmed.

"Chris is a huge fan of Top Gear and has great respect for the craft and work ethic of one of the best production teams in the world.

"He knows the phenomenal attention to detail it takes to make a single sequence of Top Gear, let alone a whole series. He is already full of brilliant ideas and I can't wait for him to get started."

Chris Evans Replacing Jeremy Clarkson On Top Gear Leaves Fans Ready To Blow A Gasket

News that Chris Evans will replace Jeremy Clarkson as Top Gear's frontman has prompted a bitter response from fans, many criticising the decision and vowing not to watch the new series of the show.

Clarkson's successor was always going to be a matter of contention for viewers, many of whom are bigger fans of the ousted presenter than of the show itself.

Viewers lambasted the BBC's appointment in their droves, posting messages claiming Top Gear would "not be the same" without Clarkson, or his co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May.

Gary Lineker, the BBC's Match of the Day presenter, though, led the charge against embattled Evans enemies, congratulating the Radio 2 DJ on his appointment and calling him "one of the finest broadcasters of our time".

Soon after, Clarkson's former colleague James May threw his backing behind Evans too:

The two heavyweight broadcasters were joined quickly by others, keen to defend Top Gear's reputation and rally in support of Evans.

The BBC has confirmed production on the new series is due to start in the coming weeks. Whether or not Evans will manage to win over his critics remains to be seen.

Foo Fighters have been forced to pull out of Glastonbury, following Dave Grohl's recent on-stage accident, that left him with a broken leg.

On Tuesday afternoon, Michael Eavis admitted that he was unsure as to whether the band would be able to take to the stage, and later that night, the disappointing news was confirmed.

A statement released on the festival's website explains:

“Due to injuries sustained in Dave Grohl’s fall from the stage during Foo Fighters’ June 12 show at Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg, Sweden, doctors have required the cancellation of the remainder of the band’s dates in the UK and Europe.

"Sadly, this means that the band will not be able to make their scheduled Pyramid Stage headline appearance on Friday, 26th June.

"We wish Dave Grohl all the best for a full and speedy recovery."

The closing line promises that a new headliner "will be announced soon".

There's already been plenty of speculation over who could replace the band, and wishful thinkers have suggested Fleetwood Mac.

Stevie Nicks dedicated 'Landslide' to Dave, during the band's performance at Isle Of Wight Festival on Sunday evening, however there's no official word yet on who the replacement will be.

Other acts set to take to the stage over the weekend include headliners Kanye West and The Who, along with Jamie xx, Paul Weller, Florence And The Machine and Patti Smith.

'Fifty Shades of Grey' lived up to all the hype, taking an incredible $569million worldwide at the box office, making it the third highest-grossing film of the year so far.

Not bad for a story that came out of a Brentford lady's take on 'Twilight' fan fiction.

Now, all those hen nights and ladies' guilty pleasure outings can be taken indoors, with the release of the Blu-Ray and DVD, even promising an alternate ending for those left disappointed by the final scenes between Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele (played by Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson in the big screen adaptation of EL James' first book).

'Fifty Shades of Grey' is available to own on Blu-ray™ and DVD on Monday 22 June 2015 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. Both feature an exclusive unseen edition, including an extended version with alternate ending.

‘Top Gear': Chris Evans Announced As New Presenter - Who Will Join Him?

‘Top Gear’ fans aren’t exactly pleased that Chris Evans is the show’s new presenter, but it’s worth remembering that he makes up just one third of the team.

Granted, Chris will be taking Jeremy Clarkson’s lead role, but there are still two other presenters yet to be revealed.

Speaking on Radio 5 Live the morning after his appointment, Chris hinted that one other host has already signed on the dotted line, stating that there will “100 percent” be a woman in the line-up, and Jodie Kidd and Suzi Perry are both rumoured to be in line for that spot.

But who could join them on the show? And will they manage to win viewers over?

Chris later took to Twitter to clear up rumours of a shortlist of potential candidates, but his comments have got us very confused.

“To save you spending your hard earned cash on speculative wagers. There is no one on any short list yet to co host TG. Announcement re presenters tmr,” he tweeted.

So that’s - there isn’t a list yet. But there’ll be an announcement tomorrow. Perhaps the Beeb are launching an ‘X Factor’-like hunt to find the hopefuls? Who. Knows.

Check out all of the potential presenters below…

Madonna's 'Bitch I'm Madonna' Music Video Features Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj And Kanye West... But Not Like We Thought

So remember when Madonna teased her “star-studded” ‘Bitch I’m Madonna’ video, featuring A-listers like Miley Cyrus, Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj?

Well, the video has finally landed, but the celebrity appearances aren’t quite what we had in mind…

SEE MORE:

Sadly, the music video is currently exclusive to Tidal, so unless you’re one of the fives of tens of people to sign up to the music streaming service, you’ll have to take our word for it, which her fans are totally thrilled about, as you can see...

Luckily for you, we've now seen the video, so we can tell you that while all the celebrities Madonna had previously teased are present and correct - in addition to others she hadn’t previously mentioned, like Kanye West, her youngest son, David, and, curiously, comedian Chris Rock - not all of them are actually in the room with her.

Madonna teased the video earlier this week

Yes, in fact, the majority of the celebrity “cameos” are actually just close-up shots of the various celebrities mouthing the words “Bitch I’m Madonna”, which is still quite impressive given most of their A-list statuses, but isn’t quite on ‘Bad Blood’ levels of… well… actually being in the same room with Madonna, at the same time.

Even Nicki Minaj, who provides a go-hard-or-go-home rap on the track, doesn’t actually appear with the Queen of Pop in the video, instead showing up on a plasma screen which Madonna then dances in front of.

Still, at least Madonna could count on Rita ‘Publicity Shy’ Ora to show up for her on the day…

Don't get us wrong, the music video is good enough, Madonna's dancing is fantastic and it's great to see her enjoying herself so much... but these celebrity "cameos" are quite the letdown.

‘Bitch I’m Madonna’, co-produced by Diplo, acts as the third single from Madonna’s latest album, ‘Rebel Heart’.

To promote the release, Madonna will be heading on a world tour later this year, kicking off in Montreal this September.

Music Festivals: This Infographic Shows Just How Few Female Headliners There Are

The topic of female festival headliners rears its head each summer, and on Thursday, it didn’t go unnoticed that Florence And The Machine’s promotion to Glastonbury’s top spot is a significant step.

Over the last 10 years, UK festivals haven’t exactly been brimming with female acts, and very few ladies have made it to the highly-coveted headline spot.

This infographic, from MorphSuits, reveals just how few have, and the numbers are depressing to say the least.

Across the 10 festivals charted, there have been just 14 headline performances from women going solo, compared to 48 from men.

It doesn’t really get any better, and for every mixed male-female band (hooray for Fleetwood Mac!) there have been over six all-male groups closing festivities. And no all-female ones. Ever.

It’s not quite right, is it?

Check out the infographic below…

Jurassic World Movie Is Beyond Ironic, According To Russell Brand

Jurassic World might have set a box office record at the weekend, but Russell Brand has highlighted just why the eagerly-anticipated dinosaur movie is beyond ironic.

The sequel to the Jurassic Park films became the first movie to ever get $500 million worldwide in its first weekend.

So it becomes even more ironic that a film which shows corporate greed ultimately spawning a dinosaur hybrid which goes on to kill everybody has become one of the most successful movies of all time.

At least, that's what Brand thinks.

Russell Brand highlights the blockbuster's irony in latest The Trews podcast, Jurassic World: Capitalism Eats Itself

The comedian reviewed the film during a podcast on The Trews called 'Jurassic World: Capitalism Eats Itself".

The 40-year-old says: 'I would argue that Jurassic World is late capitalism's great masterpiece. A film in which capitalism is attacked and condemned as part of a capitalist enterprise.

"If you look at this film in its totality it is like a sphere of pure perfect capitalist extremism."

Brand continues: "One of my favourite moments is when the geezer in the control room says 'oh you know we can't have big businesses and corporations sponsoring dinosaurs, what are we going to have next? A Pepsi-sorous Rex?'

"It is ridiculing and criticising capitalism while being a capitalist product."

Brand goes on to discuss the lead woman's role in the film - who he aptly forgets the name of - and proceeds to slam the blockbuster for condemning the "strong, female character" who has "lost touch with traditional values".

He then refers to the product placement in the movie and explains the film studio's logic behind hiring stars from across the world to make the blockbuster easier to sell in countries such as France and India.

Bosses at the Jurassic World theme park say that attendance figures 'spike' whenever a new attraction is unveiled

He says: "What fascinates me is that Starbucks will pay big money to have a fake franchise outlet in a fake theme park, even though the theme park is a microcosm of man's destructiveness, particularly as a result of capitalism."

He adds: "It plays on the anxieties that it's creating and then sells those anxieties back to you in the form of a movie."

You have to admit, it is pretty ironic.

‘Game Of Thrones' Sex Scenes: Every Single Raunchy Moment From Series 5 (VIDEO)

‘Game Of Thrones’ may be gone (for a while), but thanks to that dramatic series finale, it certainly isn’t about to be forgotten.

We’ve already had the emotional supercut of every, single death from season five, and now it’s time for the annual supercut of all the scenes of sex and nudity.

Series 4’s supercut clocked in at just under 6 minutes, but this time around, the number’s back up to 6 minutes and 40 seconds (though it’s no where near the totals for the first three seasons).

Obviously, this is ‘Game Of Thrones’, and many of the naked scenes are actually rather uncomfortable to watch, though we were spared some of the most traumatising scenes.

See the whole NSFW clip above…
